Ashbourne

Train: The nearest train station is Derby.

Bus: From Derby you need to get a bus or taxi to Ashbourne. Its about a 40 minute journey, buses leave from Derby Bus Station. To get a taxi, bus or walk from the Train Station turn right out of the station - 15 minutes walk.

Ashbourne is only 6 miles from Alton Towers - approximately a 20 minute drive away.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bakewell

Train: The nearest railway stations are at Chesterfield, Buxton, Matlock or Grindleford.

Bus: Many bus services pass through the town including Trans-Peak from Derby or Manchester; X18 or 240 from Sheffield or 170 from Chesterfield.

Alton Towers Area

The Alton Towers Transport team run a number of bus services designed to connect with incoming train services from popular destinations including Stoke-on-Trent rail station, Leek Bus Station, Uttoxeter Rail Station, Nottingham Broadmarsh Bus Station, Derby Full Street.First PMT service 32A also runs frequently between Hanley and Uttoxeter via the Alton Towers Resort.

Train: Belper railway station is situated on the Midland Main Line, and is mainly served by local trains on the Derwent Valley Line, Derby–Matlock service.

Buxton

Train: Buxton train station is five minutes walk from the Opera House and the centre of town.You can travel direct from Manchester to Buxton, or if you are coming from London you can get from Euston to Macclesfield.

Bus: You can bus it to Buxton direct from Chesterfield, Derby, Glossop, Huddersfield, Macclesfield, Sheffield, Stockport and Stoke-on-Trent.
