Buxton Spa Town, Derbyshire

 

The beautiful Spa Town of Buxton is known as 'the gateway to the Peak District National Park' and offers a wealth of things to see and do.

 

Buxton is home to Pooles Cavern, an extensive limestone cavern open to the public, and St Ann's Well, fed by the geothermal spring bottled and sold internationally by Buxton Mineral Water Company. Also in the town is the Buxton Opera House, which hosts several music and theatre festivals each year. Other attractions for visitors include two speedway stadia, two golf courses, a pedestrian-only street with small shops and an indoor shopping mall.

 

Known as the cultural capital of the Peak District, Buxton offers many events and has some beautiful architecture to behold.
